For Anu Malik and family, it is more 'khushi' than 'gham'. Even though the composer won't be a part of the Shootout At Wadala is expected to bring him back in the reckoning as far as Bollywood is concerned. What has further elated the Malik family is daughter Anmol being roped in as a lead singer for a major track in the film Bhajathe Raho."Maliks are going through a roller coaster emotional ride for sure. On one side, his 'Babli Badmaash' from Shootout At Wadala has already caught up heat, especially with Priyanka Chopra gyrating to the Sunidhi Chauhan sung number. On the other hand, his daughter Anmol has caught fancy of other composers as well. For Bhajathe Raho, she has sung a special song which the makers are pitching different when compared to quintessential item numbers", informs a source.
As a matter of fact, despite making her debut as a singer with Aishwarya Rai's Umrao Jaan (where she had sung 'Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Kijo'), Anmol hasn't been very active in the world of playback singing. However, after her chartbuster track 'Talli Hua', she is now back with a song called 'Naagin' which is touted to be even funnier than her party number from Ugly Aur Pagli.
"I heard the tune and I knew that Anmol had to sing to it.", says Krishika Lulla, producer of the Tusshar Kapoor-Vinay Pathak-Ranvir Shorey starrer ensemble affair, "I told her that she was doing it. Period. She is a very sweet girl and has done her best with the song. I am sure she would be much more prolific from now on."
The song is picturised on a couple of hot-n-happening female dancers, announcement around who would be made soon.
Meanwhile, dad Anu Malik is also touted to be much more prolific in weeks to come. Currently, working on the background score of the biggie by Sanjay Gupta and Ekta Kapoor, Shootout At Wadala, he is also gearing up for some other major musical assignments.
